Even after months I don't fully trust these being gold

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I bought these for their low premium over spot. I received the Grant Wood (1980) design that has no indication of metal content, and they have a copper-like sheen. I tend to be paranoid of counterfeits and never became fully convinced of them being genuine, especially because of the slight discoloration that looks like they're copper or brass on the surface (these have a little more copper than other 22k gold coins). Will definitely stick to other coins in the future when it comes to gold because confidence in having a store of value is a key reason I bought gold.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very nice

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

US Mint produced product at a price comparable to secondary market gold rounds. Very nice design, some very small scratches, but normal for secondary gold. Not a substitute for AGE or even a new assay-card generic - but if are looking for secondary market generic gold - this is a great option.

  • Pros
  • Attractive Design
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
