How to beat the Sea Spider boss in Armored 6 (2024)

If you want to know how to beat the Sea Spider boss in Armored Core 6, we've got all the details you'll need on the best mech build you should use to send this punishing insect back to its ocean web.

While it is more likely that the first major hurdle that you will face in Armored Core 6 is the Balteus boss, the Sea Spider also poses an incredible challenge that can be difficult to overcome.

It has a higher damage output and speed than anything you will have seen in the game so far, so we certainly don't blame you if you're looking for a little help.

Below, we've got everything you need on how to beat the Sea Spider boss in Armored Core 6 - including an ideal strategy and the best mech build that you can equip.

Strategy & tips to beat Sea Spider in Armored Core 6

Having a mobile build is essential when trying to defeat the Sea Spider boss in Armored Core 6, as it has a number of deadly laser and melee attacks that will hit you if you're not quick enough to move out of the way.

Generally, the best thing to do is to continually rotate around the Sea Spider boss, as although it can only do its melee attack from the 'front', the turret on top can rotate 360 degrees - so it technically does not have a blind spot that you can exploit.

We recommend staying in the mid-range so that you can have full awareness of what attacks the boss is doing and then jumping in close once its stagger has been broken to deal as much damage as possible.

Unlike many other bosses that you have met so far, the Sea Spider tends to do more 'single' attacks that are readable but can deal massive damage if you get hit. Because of this, we recommend studying the boss' movements and attacks so that you always know what it is about to do.

Attacks

The main attacks that you have to watch out for are the double laser shot, the charged laser, and the melee slam attack. For the double laser, you will want to Quick Boost to the side about a second after you hear the double beep sound cue, and then dodge again the same way just after your first dodge.

The charged laser will usually start away from you and then move anti-clockwise in your direction. A simple jump will avoid this attack, although its charge-up is easily mistaken for the double laser - so be careful.

Finally, the melee slam has a long wind-up where the boss stands on its hind legs before slamming its front down. This attack doesn't track very well, so your best course of action is to Quick Boost diagonally forward so that you end up behind the boss, as it won't be able to turn around quick enough to catch you.

Second phase

Things become even trickier when the Sea Spider reaches its second phase at around 30% HP though, as it extends its legs and starts flying in the air. For this phase, you will want to stay in the air as much as possiblewhile maintaining enough boost energy to Quick Boost when needed.

We do not recommend flying up to get close to the boss when it is at its highest point, as it will drop down at many points making it much easier to hit. When it is far away from you just make sure to use your ranged weapons to keep up the damage and dodge any incoming attacks.

It will charge up an attack from its core at certain points during this phase - indicated by red electricity build-up and the double beep sound cue. To avoid this attack, just make sure that you're in the air, as it will hit a large area of effect on the ground.

The next most dangerous attack is its melee in this phase, which starts when it turns at an angle and starts spinning quickly. For this, you will either want to fly high enough to be over the boss when it meets you, or stay on the ground and use Quick Boosts to get clear of the attack.
