About Masala Chai

Masala Chai is a hot beverage popular indian tea made by boiling milk with indian tea, special tea masala powder and sugar. The beverage is popular across the world. Tea is steeped with spices like green cardamom, cloves, black pepper, cinnamon and ginger.

But if I feel like having a cup of chai , it should be this masala chai. Yes I love it a lot..There is something in that spicy aroma and taste coming from all the spices and ginger which makes me so refreshing. And the cool thing is, this is great for digestion, since all the spices added in this is so good for you. Have this tea with some tea biscuit, in my case it should be marie biscuits. I dip the biscuits in the tea and have it sip by sip and it will be like heaven.

Masala chai gets its unique flavour from the special masala. The masala for chai ingredients are whole warm spices. The spices has its intense aroma which makes the tea delicious.

Masala Chai Spice Mix are cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, black pepper and dry ginger powder.

Cinnamon - adds a sweet note to the masala tea and goes well with the milk tea.

Cardamom - adds an another sweet note and aroma to the tea.

Cloves - adds a mild spice and fresh flavour.

Black Pepper - adds a spice note to the tea. the pepper gives a tingly taste at the end of your throat.

Dry ginger powder - you can use dried ginger powder if you have. Fresh ginger can be used in the masala tea as fresh ingredient when making tea.

You can make this powder in bulk and store them in air tight container for up to a month. I would suggest you not to make too much of this powder, because it tends to loose its fresh flavour when stored for a long time.
