Fleetwood gets moving with three in two
T24: Tommy FLEETWOOD (-7) -4 thru 8
This is shaping up to be a good day for Fleetwood, who has recovered well from a bogey start on the 2nd.
Since then, he's birdied 3, 4 and now 8 — alongside an eagle-three on the 7th thanks to taking the shortcut island fairway to the left.
These scores are truly whetting the appetite for when the leaders get going in a few hours' time.

Progress for An and Koepka

T42: Byeong Hun AN (-5) -2 thru 5
The scores are dropping for sure. An makes a promising start with birdies at 2 and 3, consolidated by a couple of pars thereafter.
T30: Brooks KOEPKA (-6) -2 thru 5
The defending PGA champion hasn't really been involved at top this time around, but he's on par-birdie-par-birdie-par for his first five holes to drop to -6.
It does feel like you should be picking up a birdie every other hole if you want to make progress on the field today.
Smith joins the eagle club at 13
T41: Jordan SMITH (-5) -5 thru 13
Hole 13 is taking a bit of a battering so far. After Tosti drove the green earlier for an eagle, Smith has now shown you can eagle it with when your approach is off the island green.
It pitches beyond the pin before spinning back into the hole for a two. That's -5 for the round and the day for the Englishman, who bogeyed 12. He is keeping pace with Sebastian Soderberg (-4) who is also -5 for his final round.
Get prepped for a playoff
Getty Images
The leaderboard is packed with top players heading into Sunday afternoon, meaning a playoff could be highly likely.
How does a playoff at the PGA Championship work? It's a bit different than other major championships.
The PGA uses a three-hole aggregate format rather than sudden-death play, meaning the player who posts the lowest score after those three holes wins.
No. 13 (the signature par-4 with an island green), No. 17 (the 472-yard par-4), and No. 18 (the reachable par-5) are the holes set to be used.
If players are still tied at the end of the playoff, they move onto sudden-death play on No. 18, 13, 17 and 18, repeated until a winner is determined.
Since 1958 (when the PGA Championship switched from a match-play tournament to stroke play) there have been 14 playoffs. The most recent playoff occurred between Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris at Southern Hills (2022), with Thomas coming out on top.
Thomas' best could be yet to come

We are under an hour from Kentucky hero Justin Thomas teeing off his final round at Valhalla. His four-under 67 was so much fun, the Louisville man labelled it one of the best moments of his career.
At -10, five shots off the lead, he has an opportunity to better that today. He said last night:
💬 "It was a blast, to say the least. I really wish we had more tournaments in Louisville because this is so fun.
"I've really just tried to take it in and use it as a positive rather than put too much pressure on myself.
"It's helped me so much this week and I'm honestly just bummed there's only one day left."
Tosti's stunning shot of the day so far

T74: Alejandro TOSTI (+1) -2 thru 13
I tell you what. I'm not sure anyone will hit a better shot than Tosti has just managed on the 13th.
He's driven the green on the par four, which you may know is an island surrounded by water, to hit 338 yards to within 7ft of the pin. It's simply sensational.
He holes his eagle putt, punches the air and leaves 13 with a story to tell.
I wonder if anyone else will be tempted to drive that green today? High risk would be an understatement.

Smith pockets a double double

T49: Jordan SMITH (-4) -4 thru 11
The shots are starting to be picked up now. Smith makes it his second birdie double of his final round.
Having managed it on 4 and 5 on his front nine, he's now begun his back half with birdies at 10 and 11. That takes him -4 for the day and the tournament.
Both Smith and Soderberg have picked up four shots this morning.
Rose: 'I'm doing things I've never done before'

Saturday was a joy for Justin Rose - as well as joy for the rest of us to watch him play out his fabulous 64. He's now in contention to record a remarkable second career major — 11 years after his first.
It wouldn't be in keeping with his form but that thought will be buried as he embarks on his final round at Valhalla.
💬 "It was a great day, an exciting day. The start of this course is definitely demanding. You're hitting a lot of mid irons into the greens and to get a couple under early was a real momentum-starter.
"I still believe in myself. Still believe I have these opportunities in me in Majors for sure.
"This year has been a very difficult year...but I feel like I'm doing things with the ball I have never done in my career in terms of speed and ball-striking, and some of the quality has really gone up."
Hat-trick for Soderberg
T56: Sebastian SODERBERG (-3) -4 thru 10
Soderberg really is flying now, making it a birdie hat-trick and four in five with a four at 10.
It owes a lot to his chip out of the front bunker to within 7ft of the pin. Lovely stuff from the Swede.
Scheffler arrives for his final round
It's been hard not to think of Friday on each subsequent arrival of Scottie Scheffler at Valhalla, but he has arrived on the property for his final round.
He's sporting a light blue shirt and he will be reunited with his longstanding caddie Ted Scott for this Sunday 18.
At -7, eight shots off the lead, he really should be too far away to scare the leaders today. Should be.

T60: Sebastian SODERBERG (-2) -3 thru 9
Soderberg managed a hole in one on 8 in his second-round 67 on Friday.
Today he's starting to fire as well, claiming consecutive birdies on 8 and 9 to reach -2 for the tournament and -3 for his final round through the front nine (32).

How the scoring fares so far
Are we in for a big day of low scores? You would imagine so — but the early rounds are doing a good job of keeping us guessing.
Here's how the scoring looks with the final rounds so far:
- -2: Putnam (thru 6), J Smith (7), Soderberg (8)
- -1: SH Kim (6), Totsi (8)
- E: Fowler (1), Fleetwood (1), J Svensson (1), D Johnson (6), Wells (8)
- +1: Neimann (1), Cantlay (2), Donald (2), Woodland (3), Murray (3), Hadwin (4), Van Rooyen (4), Jaeger (5), Fox (6), R Hojgaard (7)

T54: Andrew PUTNAM (-3) -2 thru 4
Andrew Putnam becomes the second player to hit two-under, and he's managed it through the first four.
He birdies 2 and 4 to go three-under for the tournament. Putnam and Smith leading the way of the final round starters so far.
Smith bags a birdie double
T60: Jordan SMITH (-2) -2 thru 5
Today's big gainer so far is Englishman Jordan Smith, who has now birdied the 4th and 5th to move to -2 for the day and the tournament.
His first birdie was pocketed thanks to a 14ft putt; his second came with a wonderful approach to within 5ft for the pin.
Schauffele may be forced into finding more
Getty Images
It was interesting listening to a conversation last night about how Xander Schauffele should approach today's play.
He was extremely patient on Saturday, arguably almost passive given his steady three-under 68 amid the frighteningly low scoring elsewhere. He left a fair few shots out there too.
It proved enough to keep him on top of the leaderboard, although now sharing the spot of Collin Morikawa.
The point being, with perfect conditions, the threat of even lower scores and the charges that come with the finishing line in sight, Schauffele may need to be far more aggressive today if he's to hold the field at bay for his first major triumph.

How to present the Wanamaker Trophy
Today's PGA Championship winner will have done something special to come away with the Wanamaker Trophy.
And I'm now assuming this is how it will be presented, otherwise — and I think I can speak for us all here when I say — it might be slightly disappointing.
What to know ahead of today's PGA climax
Our own golf sensation, Justin Ray, has been in fine form this PGA Championship. Here is his essential reading ahead of today's final rounds, including:
- Collin Morikawa bidding to be the first since Tom Watson
- The context Xander Schauffele's lead
- Shane Lowry's sensational putting
- Plus lines on Scottie Scheffler, Sahith Theegala, Bryson DeChambeau and more

The final-day pin positions
X/PGA Tour Communications
Valhalla has taken a bit of a battering over these first three days and trying to hide the pins on these smaller than average greens has proven pretty difficult.
Here's what awaits the field for the final round of this year's PGA Championship. To say this lot are hugging the fringes would be an understatement.
