FAQ

The most frequently asked questions about the zoo visit!

At this time of year, certain animals are less active. Among mammals, the black bear goes into torpor (state of light sleep, unlike true hibernation) and so is not visible. The racoons, however, do not always enter a dormancy state and may be visible depending on the conditions. The turtles in the outdoor living spaces are not visible as they are also in a state of torpor, which we call brumation in reptiles. The other animals are all active. However, they always have the choice to be visible or not, for their well-being. They all have access to hiding spots in order to enjoy a little privacy if they wish. We invite you to go around the zoo several times if you were unlucky on the first round; this can lead to memorable encounters!

Of course the length of your visit will depend on the time you spend at each living space. On average, the visit takes approximately 1:30 to see all the animals and have the chance to observe them. The length of your visit will naturally be longer if you choose to take a break for lunch or a snack.

Absolutely. We even have a recommended route on the Ondago mobile app to save you from a passage with stairs in the duck aviary!

Vending machines are available on site for snacks and beverages, but it is best to bring a packed lunch if you are looking for a complete meal. We have an indoor lunch area all year long and an outdoor picnic area (available in May). **Starting this Easter weekend, Wild Willy's Ice Cream will be offering a little freshness during weekends and in July and August possibly on Mondays and Fridays (wether dependent)! They have choices to suit every taste! **Please note that BBQs and alcohol are not allowed.

Parking is free for all our visitors.
