  • Your Checking Account Options at Grow (1)

    July 10, 2023

What’s so great about our checking accounts? Well, we’re biased, but we think there’s a lot to love. We offer two different checking account options, so whether you want an account that’s easy and simple or a bang-for-your-buck account that pays you with every qualifying swipe, we’ve got something for you. Both accounts come with a Grow Visa® debit card and free services like access to more than 70,000 surcharge-free ATMs across our network1, Grow Online and Mobile Banking2, and direct deposit.

    Checkless Checking

Sometimes, you just want the basics. That’s why we created Checkless Checking.3 Exactly as the name implies, it’s checking without the paper checks. There is no minimum balance requirement, so you can move money freely between accounts without worrying about your balance dipping too low. Plus, there are no non-sufficient funds fees in sight, which means there’s no risk of overdrawing your account. As of March 2023, there’s no monthly account service fee, making Checkless Checking a perfect checking account option for anyone looking for simple, no-cost checking.

    CashBack Checking

If you’re interested in a checking account that rewards you, CashBack Checking might be right up your alley. In addition to the features of Checkless Checking, CashBack Checking adds access to paper checks and Online Bill Pay. CashBack Checking is our most popular checking account option for a reason — cash rewards for each qualifying swipe. That’s right. You’ll earn five cents cash back for each qualifying debit card transaction, deposited as one lump sum each month. Think about how often you use your card for gas, groceries and everyday expenses. You could earn five cents back on each and every purchase. Talk about a debit card that pays you back!4

1There is no fee for transactions made at ATMs in the Grow Financial, CU24/CU HERE or CO-OP networks. Transactions from non-network ATMs will carry a $2.00 service charge, in addition to any fees charged by the operating institution.
2Additional data charges may apply. Please see your wireless carrier for more information.
3You cannot use paper checks on this account. Any check written will be returned unpaid, even if you have sufficient money in your account.
4Earn a bonus of $0.05 per qualifying Grow Visa debit card transaction. Qualified Visa debit card transactions include signature or PIN-based point-of-sale purchases, bill payment transactions made with your Grow Visa debit card, and online purchases. Excludes ATM withdrawals, deposits and transfers. No minimum balance is required to open the account or obtain the bonus.

How to Find Your Routing & Account Numbers

When you make a payment online, by phone or on a mobile device, you may be asked for our routing number and your checking account number. Credit unions and banks use these numbers to identify accounts and make sure money gets where it’s supposed to be. You’ll also need to provide your routing and checking account numbers for:

    • Direct deposits
    • Electronic checks
    • Military allotments
    • Wire transfers

Where to Find Your Routing & Checking Account Numbers

Your personal checks include both our routing number and your account number, as shown on the Grow check example below.

Don’t have a Grow check? No worries.

Visit any Grow store and ask for a Direct Deposit Form. It lists both your routing number and checking account number.

    Making a Loan Payment

When it comes to making payments, we try to make it as painless as possible to pay your loan every month. We have several different ways to pay, including convenient online options.

    Pay Online

You have two ways to pay online by transferring funds from another bank or credit union.

    1. Grow Online Banking (Preferred payment method for any loan)
This is the simplest way to pay your loan. You can make one-time payments or set up automatic recurring payments in Grow Online Banking. Once you log in, select “Transfer/Payments” from the menu. If you’re not enrolled in Grow Online Banking yet, you can set up your account in just a few minutes.
    1. Debit Card or ACH (Available for auto, personal loans and HELOCs)
Note: ACH and debit card payments are not available for credit cards or most mortgages, except HELOCs.

We accept ACH payments with no additional fees or Mastercard® and Visa® debit cards with a convenience fee of $4.95. To get started with an online ACH or debit card payment, select Pay Now below.

    Pay by Mail

You can also pay any Grow loan by check through the mail. Please remember to include your account number and Grow loan number on the check. (For credit card payments, please do not write your 16-digit credit card number on the check, which can cause a delay in processing the payment.)
